In this 18 week course, students will continue growing in their foundational piano skills as they practice reading and playing basic rhythms in the treble clef, the bass clef, and on the grand staff. This class is the follow up class to the "Beginner Piano Course- Semester 1" class. Students will continue growing their piano skills by learning short and fun exercises and melodic songs using their right hand, left hand, and eventually, hands together. The classes will be taught in a fun, interactive, and laid back style. The first 3-5 minutes of each class will be an interactive time for the students to get to know the teacher and other fellow students. Then, the class will proceed with reviewing the materials learned from the previous lesson, and then the new material will be taught. The final 5-10 minutes of the class will be an interactive game time where students will be asked to review with each other what they learned in the class. Students will receive weekly homework at the end of each lesson so they can keep practicing what they learned on the piano throughout the week. It is recommended for students to have completed the "Beginner Piano Course- Semester 1" course before taking this course. The only materials students will need for this class will be access to a keyboard or piano, a device with internet & a webcam (iphone, tablet, or laptop), and a pair of headphones. The weekly class curriculum is as follows: Week 1: Reviewing music notes and simple rhythms in the treble clef Week 2: Practicing music notes and simple rhythms in the treble clef Week 3: Learning the notes in the bass clef Week 4: Practicing reading the bass clef Week 5: Playing songs in the bass clef with rhythmic melodies Week 6: Playing songs in the bass clef with rhythmic melodies Week 7: Playing songs in the bass clef with rhythmic melodies Week 8: Introduction to the grand staff and playing with both hands Week 9: Learning how to read and play notes in the grand staff with both hands (WEEK OF SPRING BREAK OFF) Week 10: Playing more advanced songs in the grand staff Week 11: Playing more advanced songs in the grand staff Week 12: Playing more advanced songs in the grand staff Week 13: Playing more advanced songs in the grand staff Week 14: Playing more advanced songs in the grand staff Week 15: Introduction to playing in "G-Position" Week 16: Playing songs in "G-position" Week 17: Playing more advanced songs in "G-position" Week 18: Playing more advanced songs in "G-position"
