Each week, the teacher will give the learners a simple and optional homework. It's like "introduce yourself on the paper and send it to the teacher. Share it with the other students in the next class, if you are okay with it, but it's okay not to do, if you don't feel like to do it." It's going to be a great practice to read, write, speak, and listen. I know that people have a different way to study, so I just suggest this homework but it's optional! I wouldn't mind it even if you don't want to share with other students or you don't do the homework. Everybody has a different way to study, and I'm just a guide on your way :)Experiencia de clase
Did you finish studying the Korean characters Hangul? Then, let's begin the next step! In this 4 week class, we're going to study how to introduce yourself in Korean, how to say what you like, the most basic verbs in present tense, and practice it with a native Korean teacher. You'll be able to say your name, how old you are, where you're from, and what you like in Korean after this class. This is a flex class version of my live Beginner Korean 1 class, so there are no live meetings, but material will be posted for 4 weeks. The student will have access to a class recording weekly to watch, as well as additional written and visual documents to augment the recording. Each week, students are expected to respond to a discussion question on the message board, as well as to respond to at least 2 other student's responses. We will create a healthy group discussion through messages to engage with the contents of the recordings. The student will also have various quizzes and interactive assignments to check their understanding of the video content. This course will involve group brainstorming projects to be completed interactively, as well as a peer review process to ensure maximum interaction during the class, creating a workshop feel during the 5 weeks. Also each week, students will have an opportunity to complete their own projects related to the class content and to receive individualized teacher feedback. I will be available for office hours and meetings throughout the course by appointment according to your time zone. This class doesn't require any background knowledge to take. The teacher will provide worksheets which students can practice writing with, and pronunciation files recorded by the native Korean teacher. Here's the plan for what we're going to study each week! Week 1 : 저는 ~이에요.(I am ~.) - How to introduce myself? Let's learn how to tell people my name, where I'm from, and how old I am! Week 2 : 저는 ~ 좋아해요.(I like ~.) - How to tell people what I like to do? Let's share what we like to do in Korean! Week 3 : 뭐 해요? 공부해요.(What are you doing? I'm studying.) - Let's learn the most basic verbs and how to use those! Week 4 : Let's try conversation with what we learned in the class and more vocabulary! We're going to organize what we learned to memorize easier and practice with those. Great job, you just finished the first class of the basic level Korean conversation class! We're going to work with slides I make. We're going to practice reading Hangul in the beginning of each class. We will practice reading, listening, speaking, and writing during the class as well . Learners will make sentences by themselves and share it with the teacher and other learners. There will be next level of following beginner classes as a series, and I offer more advanced classes as well, so please take following classes if you're interested! I'm looking forward to see you guys in the class :) This class requires basic understanding of the Korean character Hangul. You don't have to be perfect in reading Hangul since I'm going to help you when you need, but you'll need basic understanding of the character system. I recommend to take this class after taking "Learn to Read and Write Korean Characters Hangul" I offer, but it's not necessary if you know how to read Hangul and it's fine to take this class with "Beginner Korean 2" I offer, if you want to learn fast. Feel free to join and let's have a fun time!
