Japanese art is also stunning! 🎎 This easy-going course is aimed at students who are interested in starting or continuing their Japanese language journey, and love Asian inspired art. Discover Japan through its language and art! 🎨 Learning Japanese in this Self-pace course is at the student’s independent pace, own time, and convenience. Students will follow along as if it was a set of on-going live classes. Students may watch the pre-recorded videos (containing Teacher Lynn リン 先生), complete the Kanji artwork and homework activities any time during the course! There are no live zoom classes. In this course, students will be introduced to 1 of the main Japanese writing systems - Kanji - though art. 🎨 Students will be introduced to the meaning and pronunciation of the Japanese Kanji radical (root) characters of the lesson and associated Kanji vocabulary words. There are 225 traditional radical (root) Kanjis and over 2,000 associated Kanji vocabulary words. Students will learn 10 of some of the most commonly used radicals (roots) and over 50 everyday Kanjis in this course. 🎉 Students will be shown the correct stoke order for the characters so that they can proceed to draw or paint the Japanese Kanji characters correctly. History and cultural references may also be discussed. Students will write, draw or paint a series of Kanji words every lesson. ✍️ [For example: Student will learn the Japanese Kanji characters for "Teacher", "Mother", "Friend" and "Woman"] This course is 12 lesson long. Videos, Discussion, Games and/or Worksheets will be provided every lesson. Lesson 1: Kanji radical 1 and associated Kanji vocabulary words Lesson 2: Kanji radical 2 and associated Kanji vocabulary words Lesson 3: Kanji radical 3 and associated Kanji vocabulary words Lesson 4: Kanji radical 4 and associated Kanji vocabulary words Lesson 5: Kanji radical 5 and associated Kanji vocabulary words Lesson 6: Review of radicals 1-5 and vocabulary practice Lesson 7: Kanji radical 6 and associated Kanji vocabulary words Lesson 8: Kanji radical 7 and associated Kanji vocabulary words Lesson 9: Kanji radical 8 and associated Kanji vocabulary words Lesson 10: Kanji radical 9 and associated Kanji vocabulary words Lesson 11: Kanji radical 10 and associated Kanji vocabulary words Lesson 12: Review of radicals 6-10 vocabulary practice, & Game for learning radicals 1-10 🌟 Teacher Lynn (リン 先生) will: 1) Provide the videos lessons containing Teacher Lynn (リン 先生) ▶️ 2) Create discussions on the Kanji characters of the lesson 💬 3) Attach Homework worksheets to the classroom 📝 4) Provide vocabulary practice on Memrise and Quizlet, and game on Kahoot 🎮 Students are highly recommended to participate in the class activities, questions, and games (the Outschool platform classroom, Memrise, Kahoot, Lexilogos, Quizlet and Youtube are used). Students will also be recommended to scan or take photos of their completed homework activities. Students are highly recommended to complete the following tasks by the end of the course date: 1) Watch the video lessons ▶️ 2) Post their artwork in the classroom forum (scan or take photos) 🀄 3) Scan or take photos of their completed homework worksheets (private message Teacher Lynn リン 先生) 📝 4) Individually practice the Kanji vocabulary on Memrise and Quizlet, and play the game on Kahoot 🎮 In this class, all Japanese is accompanied with English and Rōmaji (Roman alphabet) for easy reading and following along. No prior Japanese language learning is required - Easy Japanese-y! ** Please have art supplies (of your choosing) available every lesson for this course. 🎨✏️ Thank you. Teacher Lynn (リン 先生) completed her Master’s degree in Oita, Japan. She was a teaching assistant for Japanese middle school, high school, and university in-person classes in Japan. She has been living in Japan for 6 years (since 2017). Teacher Lynn not only intensely studied the Japanese language, but fell in love with Japanese culture and discovered the passion for sharing such a beautiful language with students. She has been a private Japanese online tutor for over 3 years. Teacher Lynn has also taught Chinese students for 4 years (since 2019).
