This class will cover basic guitar chords, beginning with G, then moving to C and D if time permits, and we will learn the most common strumming pattern. This is a hands-on class, so please have your guitar ready! I will play along with my students, and show them up close to the camera where each finger on the fret board goes. I try to help each student as much as possible, and go at a pace where everyone can learn effectively. My goal for every lesson is to have each student be encouraged - to try, to learn, to succeed, and to enjoy this beautiful instrument. The only required material for class is the guitar, and I ask that it has been tuned before class. A guitar pick is optional but not necessary. No prior knowledge or experience is required for this class. Let's dive in and learn together!

Hello! My name is Meagan and I am a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC). I received a Bachelor's degree in music in Arkansas, then moved to Georgia to complete another Bachelor's and a Master's degree in music therapy. I have worked with all ages and populations through music therapy and my personal life, and love helping and serving others.
I am currently a stay-at-home-mom to two beautiful girls, but I still have a passion for music. I am also passionate about baking, and love to learn American Sign Language (ASL), do crafts, and much more. I look forward to using my knowledge and skills to teach music classes, including guitar lessons, fundamentals of music, music theory, singing, and much more. I also hope to incorporate my other passions and hobbies into other classes such as beginner sign language, crafts, baking, and more.
