Experiencia de clase

During this painting class students will be painting in the negative space of their canvas using vibrant springtime themed pastel colors to paint around a bunny shape. I will be instructing students step-by-step as they will be using contact paper to cut out a bunny shape and place it on their canvas workspace. Together we will use q-tips to paint spring colors (students can also use their own creativity to pick the colors they would like) around the bunny shape. After students have painted their canvas they will need parental assistance to carefully peel off their contact paper bunny shape. Students will then have a creative bunny springtime painting! 
**For younger students that will have difficulty using scissors to cut out the bunny shape, parents can assist with this prior to class or during class if needed.**

Nearby parental supervision will be needed as students will be using scissors to cut out their bunny shape and placing it on their canvas. Students will also be handling acrylic paints, parents may want to make sure students are painting in an area that would be okay to have paint spill. I also suggest putting down newspaper on the students working space before class as it tends to have an easier clean up. **Students may need parent assistance with cutting out the bunny shape**

Student will need the following materials to create their acrylic canvas paintings. (Many of these items are readily available at your local dollar store/Target/Walmart): 
- Canvas (I use 5"X7")   - Acrylic Paint (Colors: Purple, Pink, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Green) **students may also add or use any colors they prefer) 
- Q-tips (approx. 10)     - Contact paper    - Scissors   - Bunny shape printed

Hello! My name is Mrs. Emily and I love to teach all types of subjects to enthusiastic learners. My favorite subjects include history, mathematics, reading and cooking. 
I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Education in 2018 and I have teaching experience for a total of 4 years, 2 of those being a full-time classroom teacher. Along with my teaching certification for students K-6, I am also certified in Special Education K-12 as well as Reading and ESOL endorsements. I believe that the classroom is meant to be a place of encouragement and a safe space where students can develop a lifelong love for learning. Along with being a certified teacher I am also a licensed insurance agent and work for one of the largest insurance companies in the US. I am a proud mom to a sweet little girl and goofy labradoodle.
