Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here! ✨ In this class we will make LUNA LOVEGOOD’S WAND!!! This is a recorded version of my very popular live digital illustration class. Week 1Lesson 1Intro!In this video I will introduce myself and tell you about what we're making and how we'll be making it! YAY I'm so glad you're here!Lesson 2Your Reference PhotoIn this video I will show you your Procreate gallery, how to create a new canvas and how to load your reference photo into Procreate!Lesson 3SketchingIn this video I will show you where to find brushes, how to change brush size and opacity and then we will observe and sketch the basic shape and proportions of our wand with messy, loose lines that don't have to be perfect!Lesson 4Refining Your SketchIn this video we will learn about layer opacities, the undo and redo buttons and their shortcuts, the three-finger scrub shortcut for clearing a layer, and how to use our basic sketch as a blueprint for really drawing Luna's wand with accurate detail!Lesson 5Color & ShadowIn this video we will be adding color to our wand! I'll show you where you can create color palettes, how to make gradients for shadows, and how to draw in shadows and interesting texture too!Lesson 6BONUS MAGIC!!!In this video we are going to experiment with some brushes to bring some glowy magic to life behind and in front of our wand!

I am a full-time working artist, illustrator and author. I work from my studio everyday on a variety of projects including fine art paintings, collage and picture books! I am self-taught in fine arts after getting a degree in journalism and working in editing, graphic design and marketing for over a decade. I got into teaching kind of by accident by running workshops and classes for my community and my kids' friends and classes at school, then never stopped because I just love kids, love talking about art, and all the energy and ideas that come from being with other artists like your kids!

All my self-paced classes are chunked in small videos so that learners have natural breaks built into their learning experience.
1) IPad (IPhone with Procreate Pocket app works exactly the same, but will look a bit different because it’s compact.) 2) Apple Pencil or third-party stylus is optional, but a lot easier and more fun to use than your finger. 3) Plug it in and keep it charged! 😉

In this class we use the professional digital art-making app called Procreate. This app must be used on an IPad (or IPhone as the pocket version), and can be purchased for a one-time fee of about $10 from the app store. No memberships, logins or other in-app purchases are required once you purchase your copy of the app!
