This is a teacher-lead group discussion based on students requested ballet-related topics. Each meeting, students will post their questions, concerns, and accomplishments in the chat and the group will review and discuss them during our session. Let's build friendships together, work on celebrating each other's accomplishments, and being supportive when others need it most. This is a safe space where dancers can feel comfortable discussing topics related to dance. What is shared in our meetings should not be shared with other peers outside of the group. Each week is full of new topics chosen by the students.

Ballet Teacher | Cultivating Excellence in Ballet Education and Beyond!
❤️ I'm a new teacher here on Outschool (but have been teaching since 2016). My teaching style is watch me, we try, you try. I encourage my students to ask questions when they need more clarity on the current topic. I like to keep my class sizes small (4-6 students), so each student receives the attention they need. I recommend viewing my classes on a device with a large screen so you can see your teacher clearly. Since I'm still new, if you see a class you like but the time isn't right, please reach out to me with your requests. I am still navigating my schedule to see what works best for my students. I can't wait to see you in my next class!
AMBER ROBERTS is from the United States and trained at ballet schools from age 7 to adult under Cecchetti, French, and Vaganova methods. She also studied contemporary, jazz, and tap. In her youth, she performed in many annual showcases and recitals, danced at public functions, and was often requested to dance solos and choreograph routines for community gatherings.
Amber holds an Associate of Science Diploma (2006), is a Ballet Teacher (2016-Present), holds a certificate in Strength Training and Injury Prevention (2022), and is CPR and First Aid Certified.
In 2016, Amber began teaching ballet, contemporary, and tap at studios in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia. She teaches beginner to high-intermediate levels and choreographs routines for year-round training programs and summer intensives. She taught ballet technique and pointe for a youth ballet company (2022-2024). She has been both a choreographer and rehearsal assistant for several original ballets and has choreographed for and assisted on the set of numerous performances since 2016. Amber currently teaches ballet enrichment courses and workshops, ballet technique, pre-pointe conditioning, and beginner pointe, both virtually and in-person.
Amber has trained students who have been accepted into prestigious summer programs including Ballet Magnificat and American Ballet Theatre. She has also guided and trained dedicated students who have gone on to pursue college dance programs, advancing both their dance careers and long-term life goals.
Amber is deeply passionate about enriching dancers' education beyond technical training. She has developed specialized enrichment courses to enhance students’ understanding and appreciation of the art form. Some of these courses include: “Master Ballet Vocabulary: Read, Say, and Spell 100 Ballet Terms,” “Discover Ballet History (15th Century to Present Day),” and “Art of Contemporary Ballet: Concept, Connection, Creativity.”
Amber Roberts is proud to include the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough 9 level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development. The ABT® National Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality ballet training to dance students of all ages and skill levels. Pre-Primary through Level 3 will be taught by ABT® Certified Teacher, Amber Roberts, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.
