In this fun FLEX class, students will use the classroom wall to discuss a new Baby-Sitters Club book each week! Specifically, we will be reading the first four of these fun novels, by Ann M. Martin, and discussing things like plot, story elements, figurative language, and dialogue. 

Specifically, I will post discussion questions each week about the book we are reading, and the students are asked to respond to these questions, and also post their own discussion questions, as well. We will also be comparing and contrasting each book, as well. 

Each week, I will introduce each book, and students are asked to read that week's book, and then are encouraged to also post their thoughts about each book, as well. I will also post weekly projects, as well, that culminates in each student creating a new book cover for their favorite Baby-Sitters Club book!

Weekly Projects and Activities

* During the first week, students will discuss and create a character analysis on Kristy Thomas, the main character from our first book, "Kristy's Great Idea". The character analysis will include an illustration of Kristy, and an analysis of her character and personality. Each student will be asked to post their analysis on the classroom wall, to receive positive feedback from other students. 

*The students will also select two of the first four books to create a Venn diagram, comparing and contrasting these two books. Here, students will utilize this Venn Diagram to colorfully illustrate how these 2 books compare and contrast. 

*I will post 10 fun Baby-Sitters trivia questions during the last week, that cover all four books we have read. Each student will receive a personalized badge from the teacher, after they participate in the trivia!  

*Students will select their their favorite book, during the last week of class. Here, using this book, each student will create a new cover jacket for that book, using their creativity and knowledge of the book. Each student will post their creation on the classroom wall, to receive positive feedback from other students!
