In this class, we'll delve deep into the legendary animated series "Avatar: The Last Airbender" and explore its rich storyline, complex characters, and thought-provoking themes through weekly episode recaps and discussions. This course offers a unique opportunity for fans of the show to come together and share their appreciation and excitement for the series.

Class Structure:
Each week, we will be focusing on a select set of episodes from the series. Students will be guided though a recap of each episode while being encouraged to analyze the show's exploration of certain themes such as friendship, identity, the battle between good and evil, spirituality, and personal growth. Participants will have the opportunity to share their thoughts, insights, and favorite moments from the episodes. 

We will also watch curated clips from the series that showcase epic battles, touching moments, and pivotal character interactions. These clips will serve as focal points for our discussions and offer a chance to delve into the finer details of the show's animation and storytelling techniques.

Students will also have the opportunity to test their knowledge of the series through trivia games! Compete with fellow fans, and earn points as you demonstrate your understanding of the episodes, characters, and memorable moments from the series!

This class will be moderated to ensure a safe environment for all learners, the main goal is for learners to have fun and engage in a topic they love. Though participation is encouraged it is not mandatory. 

*Please note this is an ongoing class, students can come and go as they please. We will begin from season one and discuss episodes in order.

Teacher Janet is an online child educator specializing in creative writing and story analysis. She has worked with children for the past 13 years, both in online and in person settings. She holds a Bachelor's of Science (Honours) from Queen's University.

Teacher Janet is an avid lifelong writer and reader and hopes to share her passion for storytelling through her online classes. Her classes aim to challenge students to think critically about the stories they consume and inspire them to create stories of their own. She hopes to empower children to explore their creativity, develop their own unique voice, and feel more confident sharing their thoughts/ideas

Janet currently resides in Toronto, Canada.

Class Policies:

• Refunds will only be provided wth 24 hours notice except for extenuating circumstances
• Transfer requests must be made before class start time. Preferably 24 hours in advance but exceptions will be made on a case by case basis
• Sections with only one learner enrolled will be taught as scheduled for the first 3 sessions. If no other learners attend in  that time, the section will be concluded at the teacher's discretion. Learners are welcome to enrol in other available sections or request a private session if they wish to continue
