Experiencia de clase

Nivel de inglés: desconocido
Nivel Intermediate - Advanced
Course Objective:
ASL 4 works to expand and build on ASL3 with Mrs. G. You will review vocabulary, grammar, and culturally appropriate uses of ASL through natural, everyday conversational situations. ASL 4 will allow students to work on quick retrieval of vocabulary for a variety of discussions. This course will encourage "your turn" activities. No live classes

Since ASL is a visual/gestural language, you will need to develop communication skills of which you are not accustomed: using one's hands, face, body, eyes and space. In order to progress, it is important that students become comfortable "listening" with their eyes.

1. Weekly Video Discussion Posts: Student will be assigned engaging weekly activities to show what they have learned. All student video response posts are optional. Teacher will interact with positive feedback on videos posted by learner supporting student growth in class.

2. Fingerspelling, Numbers and Core Vocabulary Review: Constant review of the vocabulary and regular practice of fingerspelling and numbers is critical to your progress in this course. You will be asked to review vocabulary regularly and perform "your turn" dialogues for practice and student interactive video post.

3. Receptive: To help you develop your receptive skills, you will be invited to Mrs. G’s exclusive Quizlets. Quizlet is option and student will need to send teacher a message to receive link.

4. Expressive : Students will be asked to follow along with the posted video using "your turn". "Your turn" weekly video posts expressive activities are designed to help you learn what fluent ASL "feels" like.

Learning Objectives: Students taking ASL 4 with Mrs. G will prepare for student advancement to ASL 5 with Mrs. G!
