Experiencia de clase

Escape Rooms are a great way for children to learn while having fun. This class is perfect for kids who love drawing and exploring. The students will get an overview of what is emotional intelligence. They will learn how to find and use the step-by-step instructions to draw anime/manga-style facial expressions tied to emotions and feelings vocabulary. They will use their imagination to personalize their artwork. Finally, they will make a real-life connection by using their vocabulary words to create a character for future stories.

The children will be interacting during the class through a PowerPoint presentation and/or PDF slides. They will be using critical thinking and creativity throughout the process. Classroom assignments (postings) will be made weekly on the same day as the beginning of the class by 6 pm (EST). Ongoing postings can happen at any time.

For the best outcome, I highly recommend that the learner takes first, as a pre-requisite, my class titled Escape Room: Anime Portrait Drawing.

Class Structure:

Perfil
Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
I teach STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) project-based classes to help young children find their passion while reaching their highest potential. STEAM projects mimic what happens in real life. It is the perfect gateway to playing while experimenting and learning. I enjoy teaching the visual arts to keep students creative. As Albert Einstein famously said, "Imagination is more important than knowledge". That's my motto.

In 2002 I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Computer Animation. In 2009 I was awarded a full scholarship to pursue a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction, specializing in Educational Technology. I am ESOL endorsed. I hold a current teaching certificate in Art, Primary Education, and French.

For more than 15 years, I have been the only art teacher at my elementary school. In 2017, when I came across, the then-novel idea of STEAM lessons, I immediately spearheaded what is now a Gold award-winning STEAM program.

I believe that thinking creatively is the key to unlocking students' potential. In my classes, children use their critical thinking skills to create. I use an immersive interactive style to help them become passionate about using their unique talents to shine.

I live in the sunshine state of Florida, USA. I love the beach. It can get steamy there. I’m always looking forward to STEAM up my students’ imagination. All aboard! Let's STEAM away!
