In this class, students will explore the art, history and culture of Ancient Greece. This thriving ancient culture was built on volcanic rich land surrounded by the ocean which fostered agriculture, fishing, written language, trade and architectural wonders. From the Parthenon to elaborate pottery and democracy, the ancient Greeks left their mark on the world. Students will explore, through hands-on projects including architecture, theater masks and pottery. Students are encouraged to engage with the instructor and other students as they explore Ancient Greece. Recordings will be made available weekly for students to review lessons and terminology. Breakdown of Each Week: Week 1: Triorama of Greek Columns and Amphitheater Week 2: Medicine of Theater Week 3: "Magical" Science of the Ancient Greeks Week 4: Olympic Pottery
