Topics Covered: *Breaking down a prompt *Planning specific reasons and evidence *Writing defensible thesis statements *Developing commentary *Addressing counterarguments Student Participation Students will be able to respond to questions by typing in the chat or by unmuting to answer. When students respond to questions posed by the teacher, they will receive feedback on their response. Please note that for lessons 2-5, students will be given writing time in class to apply the skills covered in the lesson. Given that students write at different rates, some students may need to/choose to finish the writing outside of class. If a student misses class, they should watch the recording and complete the work from the missed class so that they can proceed with the next lessons. Students will receive feedback at each stage of the writing process. Once students complete their essay, they are welcome to submit it to the teacher on Outschool for additional feedback. Final drafts should be submitted within one week of the final class, please.
