In this course, we will go over the do's and don'ts to remain safe while using the internet. From search engines to social media, we will talk about the importance of privacy and why students need to practice safety on the internet. We will also touch on cyber bullying, password protections/viruses, stranger danger, and appropriate online behaviors. Students will get to talk about the sites, platforms, or games they are using and what issues would arise on those sites. This class is not meant to scare students but to inform them of all the things on the internet to be careful of and help them feel more prepared as our world becomes more internet based. This class is interactive and will not be a lecture style class. Students will play a game at the end of class if time to re-enforce the materials. This course requires no prior knowledge and is geared toward students who are just starting to use the internet or need a refresher on the rules of the web.
