Learner progress will be assessed by the teacher daily during each lesson as they observe that students are becoming comfortable, independent and fluent in their reading. Comprehension will be monitored regularly through questions and answers as well as activities on the slides that require students to demonstrate understanding. Writing will improve as students keep a regular journal that will show their progression over time. Parents can also assess their own child's progress as they become more independent during their participation in class, their own independent reading, as well as how they are using learned information and reading techniques outside of class.

▬▬▬▬▬▬ ⭐Course Overview⭐ ▬▬▬▬▬▬
This ongoing class focuses on developing the Arabic language reading skills of non-native Arabic speakers who have a basic vocabulary foundation and can read simple sentences in Arabic. The course is designed for students who can recognize all Arabic letters, forms and vowels. In each class, students will have the opportunity to read stories from Levels D-J of the Reading A-Z series, featuring adventures of children, animals, and other fictional and non-fictional characters exploring various everyday topics. The class will be taught in both English and Modern Standard Arabic.

Throughout the course, students will improve their vocabulary and comprehension skills while also enhancing their ability to self-correct their reading mistakes. The course will cover topics such as family, home, school, the park, the zoo, friends, pets, and the store. Each class will involve letter activities, vocabulary review, story reading, comprehension, and writing. Students will interact with their classmates and instructor continuously through talking, writing, reading, and completing activities on the slides.

Students are welcome to join and leave at any time, as there is no previous information needed in order to succeed in the current week’s lesson. If you’d like to know exactly what week we are in (and that week’s topic), please send us a message to inquire.

📅 Are you looking for a class that meets 1x, 2x, 3x, or 4x per week? Send us a message about a class frequency change.
💬 We can also accommodate learners and families wanting full immersion vs. bilingual classes. Send us a message to learn more!

▬▬▬▬▬▬ 📚Literature Read📚 ▬▬▬▬▬▬
In the first four weeks of the course, students will read four stories, starting with "My Neighborhood" and concluding with "Do Not Eat That." Additional stories will be introduced in the following weeks.

▬▬▬▬▬▬ 💬Language of Instruction💬▬▬▬▬▬▬
This is an immersion class, which means lessons will be taught primarily in Arabic. However, teachers will use English as necessary to guide students.

▬▬▬▬▬▬ ✨Target Student✨▬▬▬▬▬▬
Readers at the Developing Reader's level, apply their understanding of phonics to read unfamiliar words, recognize frequently read words by sight, and self-correct their reading mistakes. They also focus on decoding, which requires fewer cognitive resources for comprehension. The course materials will reflect the characteristics of developing readers, including increasingly more lines of print per page, more complex sentence structure, fewer repetitive patterns, and pictures that relate to the story.

Students should be firm with ALL letters, forms and vowels of the Arabic language. Students should be experienced with sounding out words and reading sentences in Arabic and have a basic vocabulary foundation.
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will develop reading fluency, gain comprehension and practice beginning writing skills in the Arabic language.

My name is Bassant, and I hold a master’s degree in education with over 12 years of experience in the education field. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to fostering a love of learning in my students and equipping them with the skills they need to succeed. My teaching philosophy is deeply influenced by my Montessori certification, which emphasizes student-centered learning, and I also hold a certificate in learning difficulties, allowing me to effectively support students with diverse learning needs.

My journey in teaching has been enriched by my proficiency in multiple languages, specifically English and Arabic. With a strong academic background and extensive practical experience, I have developed a comprehensive skill set that enables me to create engaging and effective language programs.

As a native Arabic speaker with professional proficiency, I have experience teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. I employ cultural immersion techniques to enhance language learning, providing students with a rich and authentic experience.

Mrs. Thaljeya - Hello everyone my name is Thaljeya Hamdan. I am from a city in Palestine called ‘Ramallah’. I am a mother to 3 beautiful children. I immigrated with my family to the United States when I was 11 years old. I studied in Chicago and I have moved back and forth ever since. I have worked half of my life with kids as a babysitter and I have tutored both English and Arabic.

Mrs. Sondos - Ahlan wa Sahlan! My name is Mrs. Sondos and I teach Arabic! I am half Egyptian and half Syrian and I can understand almost every Arabic dialect out there. I’m a tutor and part time teacher. I graduated from Texas A&M in 2021 and I have been tutoring and teaching since 2019. I have always believed that everyone, regardless of age, deserves a fair chance at learning any subject out there. I’ve seen students struggle and I’ve seen them succeed and have realized that the most important key to success is building a strong foundation in the subject they’re trying to learn. I want to be the one to help others build and maintain that strong foundation that they’ll take with them wherever they go! I have experience teaching kids as young as 4 years old how to read, write and speak Arabic at the basic levels and I’ve enjoyed every moment of it. I love the Arabic language and I can’t wait to help your child explore its beauty with me!

Mrs. Dana - Hello my name is Mrs. Dana and I’m so Excited to be your Arabic language teacher. We are going to have lots of Fun and we will learn a lot! I live in California, I’m originally Lebanese. I have worked part time as an Arabic translator and culture advisor for Disneyland and Expo Dubai 2020. I would love to introduce and teach our wonderful rich language to my kids. I am looking forward to meeting you , and learn about you. See you soon! Love Mrs. Dana

Mrs. Khadijah Ihmoud - My name khadija ihmoud iam originally from Jerusalem Palestine i live in Chicago I have been teaching arabic language for 10 years.

Mrs. Haywood - I have completed 15 post secondary credits in the Arabic language at North Central University and The University of Minnesota. I have been teaching basic Arabic reading and writing skills for 10 years . I taught Arabic to children in grades Pre-K through grade 2 at a charter school for four years as well as a private school that I founded for seven years. This is my second year year teaching Arabic on Outschool. I regularly meet with Arabic tutors to increase my skills and knowledge in this subject as well as to gain experience with various spoken dialects. I currently speak and teach Modern Standard Arabic.
