In this class, we will teach simple yoga poses inspired by animals and incorporate mindfulness exercises. Through activities like butterfly breathing, lion’s breath, and pretending to be different animals, students will practice mindfulness while having fun and exploring their creativity.

What will be taught?
Students will learn various yoga poses inspired by animals and mindfulness techniques such as breathing exercises, body scans, and guided visualizations.

What topics will you cover?
Mindfulness Techniques: Breathing exercises, body scans, and guided visualizations.
Stress Management: Techniques to stay calm and composed.
Creative Expression: Using animal poses and mindful activities to foster creativity.

How is your class structured?
Welcome and Mindful Chat (2 minutes):
Greet students and introduce the day's animal theme.
Briefly discuss what mindfulness is and its benefits.

Warm-Up (3 minutes):
Gentle stretching with emphasis on breathing.
Prepare the body for yoga poses.

Yoga Poses and Breathing Exercises (15 minutes):
Introduce and practice 2-3 animal-inspired yoga poses.
Demonstrate and practice butterfly breathing and lion’s breath.

Guided Visualization and Mindfulness Techniques (5 minutes):
Guide students through a soothing and peaceful meditation or visualization.
Practice simple breathing techniques and other mindfulness exercises.

Cool Down and Reflection (5 minutes):
Gentle stretches to relax the body.
Reflect on how the poses and breathing exercises made them feel.
Encourage students to share their experiences and favorite parts of the class.

Learners will have plenty of chances to interact with me:
Discussion: We’ll have open, friendly discussions during our chats and reflection.
Guided Visualization: I’ll guide you through meditations and encourage you to share your experiences.
Interactive Activities: Students can ask questions, share their thoughts, and participate in all activities.

Additional Details:
This class is perfect for children ages 6-8.
No prior experience with mindfulness or meditation is needed.
Please have a yoga mat or blanket to practice on.

Please ensure that your child has an open workout space free from obstacles and a comfortable, non-slip surface like a yoga mat or blanket to prevent any injuries. Children can participate barefoot or wear grip socks to ensure proper footing. It is important that your child can follow simple directions to ensure they can follow along and safely enjoy the class.
