---> Learning Targets I will be able to explain the early events of Ruth Bader Ginsburg's life. I will be able to identify the obstacles that Ruth Bader Ginsburg was able to overcome throughout her career. --> How will they learn it? Through direct instruction and collaborative discussion learners will be able to learn more about the personal history and events in the life of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Learners will be able to share what they already know about Ruth Bader Ginsburg or what they would like to know. Furthermore, learners will be able to reflect on Ruth Bader Ginsburg's life accomplishments and, if they wish, share what this means to them. ** All information will stem from Supreme Court.Gov, History.Com, Teaching Tolerance.Org and the Smithsonian Learning Lab. We will not be discussing any specific cases in the class. ** ---> What background knowledge is required? Students will be provided with a list of key terms prior to class, however we will review these in class! The class will begin with a warm-up formative assessment to determine students' prior knowledge of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. --> What kind of homework is assigned, if any? No mandatory homework is assigned, but students will be provided with optional extension activities after class. ---> How is learner progress evaluated? The students will be evaluated through formative assessments that include a pre-assessment, participation in class discussion, and an exit ticket aligned to the learning targets.
