This is the first course in a four-part series on American History from The Nomadic Professor. The parts of the course can be taken in isolation, in pairs (US1 and US2 / US3 and US4), or as a four-semester program in American History. Individuals and families who will be generating their own transcripts can claim more than U.S. History credit from this program, including composition, historical methods, rhetoric and logic, and American Literature, as each of the four parts is integrated with an additional subject that complements the study of that period. Each day will be made up of a combination of reading the day's text (and/or listening to the day's text), watching the day's videos, filling out the day's guided notes, taking the daily quiz, and practicing the day's vocabulary. Students can expect up to 60 minutes for individual sessions, and up to 90 minutes when they are working on a document study. I will provide pass/fail feedback for each session of guided notes, and written feedback for each document lesson (this course includes 10 document lessons—1 per unit). Quizzes are automatically assessed and can be taken more than once. I hope to see you in class!
