In this one time class, student will learn about the three branches of the US government. Through discussions, activities and games students will become familiar with the Executive Branch, the Legislative Branch and the Judicial Branch. They will learn the make-up and responsibilities of each branch. Students need no prior knowledge to join and enjoy this class. Student will have lots of opportunity to contribute to the discussion with the teacher and with other students. At the end of this class students will be able to answer: What are the three branches of government? What is the responsibility of each branch of government? Who are the current president and vice president of the United States? How many justices are on the Supreme Court? Who is the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court? What are the two houses of Congress? Who is the Speaker of the House? How many Senators and Representatives are there? How long are the terms of service of the President, Vice President, members of Congress, and the Supreme Court Justices? What are the requirements to be the President, a Senator, and a Representative?

This class will not discuss politics. The platforms of the Republican and Democrat parties will not be covered. There will be no discussion or debate about the platform of each party. Popularity and opinions about particular presidents will not be discussed.
When discussing the Supreme Court, there will be no discussion of controversial Justices or court cases.
