In this awesome 20 week course we are going to learn about some of the most incredible real life survival stories. Not only are we going to dive deep in the what situation the particular person(s) endured, but also learn about what WE would do differently if we were in the same exact situation. I will teach your student by sharing the student lecture style, perhaps provide pictures and short video clips as well. We will than discuss the survival story and share ideas as to how the survivor was able to survive, and what they did wrong and right. Even though we will be talking about what skills were useful for each scenario, we will not actually be learning the skills themselves. For instance, If I share a story of a soldier who was evading capture, and I say "This soldier was able to purify water by boiling it in his canteen" I will not dive deep on the method of purifying water. I have another amazing class for that. After the 20 weeks are complete I will start the rotation all over again, so your student can start at any time, and does NOT need to start from week 1. Classes DO NOT build upon one another. Here is the following schedule: 1.) Week of 01/05/25: The Holocaust - WW2 and the Evil Nazis Survivors 2.) Week of 01/12/25: Salvador Alvarenga - Ocean Survivor 3.) Week of 01/19/25: Aaron Ralston - Wilderness Survivor 4.) Week of 01/26/25: Steven Callahan - Wilderness Survivor 5.) Week of 02/02/25: The Cuban People - Communist Government Survivors 6.) Week of 02/09/25: Juliane Koepcke - Plane Crash Survivor 7.) Week of 02/16/25: Greg Barnes - Wilderness Survivor 8.) Week of 02/23/25: Adam Herman & Conor Lodge - Wilderness Survivor 9.) Week of 03/02/25: Sir Douglas Mawson - Ocean Survivor 10.) Week of 03/09/25: Mauro Prosperi - Wilderness Survivor 11.) Week of 03/16/25: Rick Megee - Wilderness Survivor 12.) Week of 03/23/25: President George H.W. Bush - WW2 Plane Crash Survivor 13.) Week of 03/30/25: Marcus Luttrell - War in Afghanistan Survivor 14.) Week of 04/06/25: Harriet Tubman - American Slavery Survivor 15.) Week of 05/28/25: The Colombian 4 - Children Lost in The Jungle 40 Minutes is the minimum class length but, in some instances it can be up to 1 hour long. Depending on the survival story.

Orientación para padres
Although I will NEVER show graphic images or videos, there are some sensitive topics.
1.) We will be discussing scenarios where people have sustained injuries or have come close to death.
2.) There are some stories where people lost a limb
3.) There are stories of combat related injuries involving knives and firearms
4.) Torture will be discussed (very vaugley however) for POW's
5.) With the Holocaust survivors I will not go into very much detail of the atrocities of the Nazi regime.
6.) Overall this is a class on the history of people that have survived life or death situations, so if your student gets scared or anxiety easily hearing about stories like this, this class might not be a good fit.

I am a U.S. Military veteran, former firefighter/first responder, and have been an outdoorsman and survival enthusiast for over 25 years. I have also been in several unfortunate scenarios where I have had to use my survival skills to stay safe and alive, such as experiencing hypothermia, heatstroke, encountering dangerous animals, and sustaining serious injuries.
My training and experience includes:
-U.S. Coast Guard. During my time serving, I participated in many federal law enforcement and search and rescue missions, and was part of a hurricane response team in South Florida.
-I was a Firefighter/Emergency Medical Responder for 10 years.

-I have had a great deal of training in urban & wilderness survival, survival psychology, critical incident peer support, emergency management, and disaster preparedness.
-I have also been on many wonderful outdoor adventures and had the unique privilege of mentoring under other fellow veterans which include: special operations servicemen, military medics/ corpsman, and combat survival instructors.
