Experiencia de clase

Welcome to Airbrushing Tabletop Miniatures. This ongoing class is learner directed. No knowledge is necessary, as this is ongoing class is meant for learners of all levels. Learners are free to join and leave at any time.

As this is a learner directed class, the focus is on developing the learners skills in using their airbrush. Learners are free to ask questions about techniques, colors, styles, and effects that they may want on their miniatures. I will give them directions, pose questions, and challenge them with my directions.
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will learn what they wish to learn in regards to using an airbrush for tabletop miniatures. If they're just starting out, I will teach them the basics to get themselves set up and have a core understanding of using the airbrush. If they're more advanced, they will learn how to blend and layer colors, apply special mediums for special effects, etc.

Orientación para padres
As this is a miniature painting class, some miniatures may contain fantasy violence.
Lista de útiles escolares
Airbrush - I recommend an Iwata Eclipse as a durable and reliable airbrush.
hose - to connect the airbrush to the air compressor.
Air compressor - Any air compressor is fine, provided it can be attached to the airbrush with the correct components.
A place that allows noise - Air compressors range in quality and noise levels. If the air compressor is a noisy, a place that can help absorb and muffle the noise would be best as to not distract those in the home.
vinyl/latex/nitrile disposable gloves - airbrushing can get messy, so having disposable gloves to prevent paint getting on hands is useful.
respirator mask - As these paints are being turned into a vapor, a respirator can protect the learner from the fumes and chemicals.
Acrylic Paints and Inks - Airbrushes require paints to paint. I do recommend inks as they are already thinned making airbrushing easier.
Airbrush cleaner - to clean the airbrush after the lesson.
Acrylic primer or Rattlecan primer - Acrylic primer can be airbrushed on to a miniature, or a spray/rattle can to prime the miniatures.
Cardboard/plastic liner/covering - to cover the table and protect the area from the airbrush spray.

Optional:
Airbrush booth - Airbrush booths have lighting and a fan to help ventilate the vapored chemicals.
airbrush varnish - to seal the miniatures.

Hello! Hi! Greetings! Konnichiwa! Carne Asada. Wait. No.
Let's rewind. Hello, I'm a miniature painter, proponent of tabletop rpgs, and purveyor of social tabletop boardgames.

I have a bachelors of arts in... the arts. I have spent 5 years in Japan teaching high school students English, so I have a master understanding of secret sleeping techniques in the classroom. After my tenor at a high school, I spent an additional 2 years teaching in Japan, students as old as 5 years, and students as young as 65 years English.

I teach classes on being a dungeon master/game master(DM/GM) for tabletop rpgs. I believe that learning how to be a DM can help kids learn a plethora of life skills that they can carry with them into the real world, not just the table setting. Team work, out of the box thinking, fairplay, social etiquette, social contracts, and negotiations.

I have DMed for over 9 years, with players ranging from 17-50 years of age. With some players being pharmacists, software engineers, military reserve, teachers, artists, etc. They have one thing in common. They want to have fun. I will teach you the skills to let them have fun, and I will help you teach your players the fear, of a simple smile from you.
