In this one time class, I will bring the Aesop fable "The Lion and the mouse" to life by retelling and acting it out with props. Students will practice their social skills and critical thinking skills while they are asked several questions about the story. Students will be asked to list the characters's physical characteristics, and define their skills or strengths. We will discuss how the characters felt and why they felt that way. Students will be asked to think of their own strengths. We will discuss the moral of this fable. Even the smallest friends, can still be great friends. We will extend beyond this moral to make it more inclusive and relatable to people in real life. Everyone one has something to contribute no matter their size, gender, or skin color.  Participation is encouraged. Students can also learn from listening. No prior knowledge of the story is required. Everyone is welcomed to bring their own props to class but are not required to do so.
