Everyone wishes they could meet and study magical creatures! In this class, we will not only learn all about fantastical reptiles and amphibians from different countries and cultures, but also learn about what makes the real-life animals that inspired them just as fantastic!
                      
Magical creatures discussed will include: Dragons, basilisks, and more! If any students have a favorite magical creature they want to discuss, we will absolutely make time for requests!


We will discuss and see live representations of the real-life creatures that inspired the myths of the magical creatures discussed. Students will meet various lizards, such as savannah monitor lizards and tegus. We will include various species of snake, tarantula and other cool arachnids, frogs, toads, and salamanders. We’ll be discussing the amazing, and almost magical abilities many animals here in our world possess, that have inspired the amazing creatures of myth and legend.

Students are encouraged to have fun and be as immersive and imaginative as possible! Dress up in your most magical outfits, bring your wands, staffs and spellbooks, and any other enchanting items you’d like to use in class or share with other students. All are encouraged to bring along their own magical creature companions (both of the stuffed and live variety) to show the class!
