(NOTE: While this is a one time class, keep an eye out for new sessions of the class. While I cannot commit to a set schedule of classes due to my profession as a veterinarian, I will host sessions when possible and every session will have a new/different case from the last one)

In each session, students will be presented with one or two crazy (and real!) veterinary cases, and will have to help the veterinarian investigate and diagnose each patient. Through the case, students will get to know different veterinary terms, investigative tools like the X-ray and ultrasound machine, and the body systems related to each case.

Teaching will take place over zoom, where students will be walked through each case via PowerPoint presentation by me, a real veterinarian. They will be asked to interact, brainstorm, and investigate to help the vet choose what to do next, and share their ideas on what could be wrong. Along the way, students will learn about the body systems affected in each case and the treatment a Vet might administer. I have since added optional history taking forms and worksheets to go along with each case, to increase the interactivity.

After each case has been cracked with the help of the students, time will be set aside for any burning questions that may have come up during the session.

Some examples of the cases that could come up:

-The Yellow Dog (Liver system)
-Stray Horse (What do Equine vets do, Hind gut digestive system and cecum problems)
-Day at the Farm (What do farm vets do, lamb and cow cases)
-Gecko case (What do exotic vets do, Reproductive system of reptiles)
-Day as a Wildlife Vet (What do wildlife vets do, moose and eagle case)
-Cat case (Nervous system)
-Day at the Zoo (What do zoo vets do, otter case and info on the kidneys and urinary system)
-Rabbit case (Circulatory system)
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will learn about the different veterinary cases, body systems, and the basics of veterinary treatment.
