Experiencia de clase

Do you want to take cool pictures that will impress your family and friends? How about taking photos of water droplets?

After seeing amazing water droplet refraction photos, I decided to try my hand at it. I studied, practiced, and photographed many shots with my Nikon DSLR. I was thrilled with the results! I decided to share this type of photography with you, but I realized that most people use their phones to take pictures. So, I tried taking refraction photos with my cell phone. It worked! I'd like to teach you how to do it, too.

This is a hands-on class. We'll begin with a slideshow presentation and will move to our hands-on activity. I will show you how to set up your equipment for your shots, and I'll guide you through your photography step-by-step. We'll also learn about different ways to edit your shots to really make them stand out.

In order to get sharp images, it's helpful to have manual focus on your camera. It can be difficult to focus on the water droplets without manual focus, but it is still possible. I believe most Android cameras have a "Pro" setting that works really well. Many newer smartphone cameras are able to focus within several inches of a subject. If your camera can't focus on something about three inches away, you'll definitely want one of the these apps:

- Open Camera for Android (free)
- Camera+ 2 for iPhone/iPad ($4.99)
- Yamera for iPhone/iPad (free)

This type of photography is a lot easier than it might seem, and I'm really excited to teach you how to do it! PLEASE READ THE SUPPLY LIST BEFORE CLASS! A tablet/iPad is required in addition to a cell phone!

*By the way, the cover image for this class was taken with my phone. :-)

Hello! My name is Veronica Lorine, and I LOVE the arts! Before having a family of my own, I taught elementary music. After resigning, I volunteered my time teaching music at a local preschool. I also became more involved with crafting and photography. On occasion, I teach a music class at a local special needs academy. I also spend a LOT of time with photography.

I've expanded my portfolio and have been able to focus on more specialized photography. Macro, abstract, and night photography are my passions. I've received recognition for several of my photos, and I hope to continue doing so. I also have a "mystery macro" Facebook group that keeps my brain sharp.

I also occasionally post images to my Instagram account (v.lorine.photography).

Besides the arts, I also enjoy traveling (far away from the SE Texas heat and humidity!), camping, hiking, and playing games with my family.

I believe in trying new things and experimenting with different ideas. I also believe that you should never compare yourself to anyone else. Be creative, be unique, be yourself, and HAVE FUN!
