¡6 semanas, 6 tipos de sílabas!

In this class, students will be taught the six syllable types: 

Closed syllable- Week 1
Open syllable - Week 2
Vowel-consonant-e syllable - Week 3
Diphthong (vowel team) syllable - Week 4
R-controlled syllable - Week 5
Consonant-le syllable- Week 6

Each week will focus on a different syllable type and students will be taught to read and spell words with the weekly type of syllable. Class will be taught sequentially, increasing in difficulty over the weeks. The first weekly class will be taking notes and an introduction to the syllable, as well as reading words. The second weekly class will be spelling and reading a connected passage. For example class 1 will be intro to closed syllables. Students will take notes  and practice coding and reading words with closed syllables. The second meeting of week 1 will be learning to spell words with closed syllables as well as reading a passage together as a group. Each week will follow this breakdown. 

My teaching style is very individualized and I like to focus on student strengths while also using encouragement. Learners in this class will be able to interact with one another in review games and activities at the end of select lessons. I like to encourage positive interaction between students. Students will be able to work together to decode words as well.
