This class uses blooket or gimkit for reviewing the lesson. These are fun, gamified learning platforms that enables students to review class material by answering questions in a quiz-style format. Students do not need an account or additional device to play the game. I will send a direct link to the game where the student clicks and joins the game directly.
For the interactive component of the class, I may share external web links from reputable organizations such as (but not limited to) the US Census bureau with students during class time either for use in class or as a resource to complete assignments. Content shared has been verified by me and found to be age-appropriate. The class also utilizes google earth (via screen share). Please note that some video content is from Youtube (learners will watch no more than 3 minutes)

My academic background and ongoing education uniquely position me to develop and teach a comprehensive and well-rounded social studies curriculum that fosters curiosity.
- My Bachelors degree in Sociology & Social Work as well as an MPhil degree in Sociology, provides me with a deep understanding of societal structures, cultural dynamics, and human behavior, which are all essential elements that form the foundation of history, geography, and civics.
- In addition, my minor in Economics at the bachelor's level enhances my ability to teach students about economic systems, trade, and resource management, while my studies in Government provide a strong basis for explaining governance structures, civic responsibilities, and citizenship.
- I am currently pursuing an MA in Education. Through this, I am gaining the skills and the pedagogical tools necessary to design engaging, age-appropriate lessons that resonate with middle school learners.
For me, teaching about the world is not just about providing information; it's about inspiring a lifelong love for learning and a deeper appreciation for the world we live in. I am excited to share my passion for the social sciences and guide your learner on their journey to becoming informed, thoughtful, and engaged global citizens.
