This class covers all 4th grade math standards. It meets two days a week and has optional homework and a Friday quiz. Homework is posted in the classroom as a link to a google form. The form will be imbedded with "hint" videos. Students can watch the videos as needed.

Each week address a new 4th grade math standard. Students may join at any time, as each skill is introduced independently. Assignments are optional. These assignments will be made available in the Outschool Classroom page on days between live classes. I will post a link to an interactive document. Follow the link, fill out the form, click submit. No printing, emailing or posting necessary.

The class structure will consist of a mini lesson, group guided practice and individual practice. Questions are encouraged at all points in the lesson. This cycle may repeat depending on the number of topics for the day.

I encourage questions. I don't believe I have taught until the student has learned.
We all make mistakes. Making mistakes is part of how we learn. In this class, we are all here to encourage and support each others math experience.

I am a licensed, K-12 teacher in the state of Oregon. I have held a teaching license in Oregon for 15 years. I currently hold a Professional Level license in Special Education that is valid through 2023. My Master of Arts and Teaching is from Pacific University, Oregon. During my teaching career I have taught students with severe multiple disabilities in life skills settings to 6th grade general education and everything in between. I have spent most of my career as a member of multidisciplinary IEP (Individualized Education Program) teams. In that role I helped evaluate, plan, implement and deliver individualized, small group and whole group instruction. I have designed education programs from the ground up, including classroom design, curriculum mapping, lesson planning and staff development programs. I have had the honor of successfully mentoring student teachers working through their masters and licensing programs. I have worked closely with school psychologist, counselors, speech pathologist, autism specialists, physical therapists, nurses and most importantly Parents. I look forward to working with you and your student soon.
