**STUDENTS WILL NEED NEARPOD FOR THIS CLASS** Welcome to 3rd Grade Math where your child will practice Math once a week by using a fun and interactive platform known as Nearpod What is Nearpod? Great question, Nearpod is a platform where students get to learn Math in a fun way. Activities include drag and drop items, matching, virtual games, and writing on the screen. Your child will need either a separate device such as a tablet or phone to access Nearpod. They may also use the computer with a link that the teacher will share, but it is extremely recommended for students to have a separate device. Students do not need to have a paid subscription to join Nearpod. A link and code will be given in the classroom 1 hour prior to class starting. Students will receive an optional homework sheet to complete after class. They may return it so I can check their answers. This class is perfect for homeschoolers who are in the 3rd grade level or students who want a refresher on 3rd Grade Math TEKS. This is an ongoing class, therefore students can enroll and unenroll as they wish. If you wish to not be charged for the following week please cancel subscription by Saturday. **Blooket is a fun and interactive platform that students love because it is extremely hands on. Students will NOT need a paid account to access it. They will receive a link prior to class and at the beginning of the class to simply click on it and login** Class layout: ≈15 minutes: Introduction to lesson with Zoom whiteboard ≈15 minutes: Nearpod lesson ≈15 minutes: Kahoot/Blooket Game for review SUMMER TOPICS: WEEK OF: 6/5/2023: Numbers and comparing Even or odd Order numbers 6/12/23: Place values Place value models up to thousands Convert to/from a number 6/19/23: Converting Convert from expanded form to standard form Convert from standard form to expanded form 6/26/23: Addition Add two numbers up to three digits Add three numbers up to three digits each 7/3/23: Addition II Add two numbers up to four digits: word problems Add three numbers up to four digits each: word problems 7/10/23: Subtraction Subtract numbers up to three digits Subtract numbers up to three digits: word problems 7/17/23: Subtract, Part II Subtract numbers with four or more digits Subtract across zeros 7/3/23: Subtraction - one digit subtract - up to 10 Subtraction word problems 7/10/23: Understand multiplication Identify multiplication expressions for arrays Lattice Multiplication- Digits less than 20 7/17/23: Multiplication fluency Multiply by 0 & 1 Multiply by 2 & 3 7/24/23: Multiplication fluency Multiply by 3 & 4 Multiply by 5 & 6 7/31/23: Multiplication fluency Multiply by 7 & 8 Multiply by 9 & 10 8/7/23: Multiplication fluency Multiply by 11 & 12 Multiplication Review 8/14/23: Multiplication Multiply one-digit numbers by two-digit numbers Multiply one-digit numbers by three-digit numbers 8/21/23: Rounding Round to the nearest 100 Round to the nearest 1000 8/28/23: Fractions Adding fractions with like terms Subtracting fractions with like terms ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The following topics will be taught: Week of: August 29, 2022- Adding fractions with unlike denominators subtracting fractions with unlike denominators September 5, 2022 dividing fractions with unlike denominators multiply fractions with unlike denominators September 12, 2022 area perimeter September 19, 2022 multiplication arrays solve for variables September 26, 2022 compare fractions compare fractions October 3, 2022 Adding fractions with like denominators subtracting fractions with like denominators October 10, 2022 Even Numbers Odd numbers October 17, 2022 Division Problems Division Word Problems October 24, 2022 Place value models up to thousands convert to and from numbers October 31, 2022 convert standard form convert expanded form November 7, 2022 fractions in lowest terms find equivalent fractions November 14, 2022 clocks and times analog and digital clocks November 21, 2022: THANKSGIVING WEEK (NO CLASSES/NO CHARGE) November 28, 2022: interpret line plots create line graphs December 5, 2022: Add two numbers up to three digits Add two numbers up to three digits: word problems December 12, 2022: Add three numbers up to three digits each Add three numbers up to three digits each: word problems DECEMBER 19-DECEMBER 30, 2022: WINTER BREAK (NO CLASSES/NO CHARGE) JANUARY 2, 2023: Subtract numbers up to three digits Subtract numbers up to three digits: word problems JANUARY 9, 2023: Addition and subtraction word problems Two-step addition and subtraction word problems JANUARY 16, 2023: Add and subtract data from tables Subtract across zeros JANUARY 23, 2023: Multiplication of 2s & 3s Multiplication of 4s & 5s JANUARY 30, 2023: Multiplication of 6s & 7s Multiplication of 8s & 9s FEBRUARY 6, 2023: Multiplication of 10s & 11s Multiplication of 12s & Multiplication Review FEBRUARY 13, 2023: Multiplication word problems Multiplication input/output tables FEBRUARY 20, 2023: Division Facts 2-6 Division Facts 7-12 FEBRUARY 27, 2023: Multiplication and division word problems Two-step multiplication and division word problems MARCH 6, 2023: Solve for the variable: addition and subtraction only Two-step mixed operation word problems MARCH 13, 2023: SPRING BREAK (NO CLASSES/NO CHARGE) MARCH 20,2023: PEMDAS (BOTH CLASSES) MARCH 27, 2023: Perform multiple operations with whole numbers Estimate to compare sums and differences APRIL 3, 2023: Perimeter of rectangles Perimeter: find the missing side length APRIL 10, 2023: (NO CLASSES ON APRIL 10) Money (Both Classes) APRIL 17, 2023: Multiply one-digit numbers by two-digit numbers Multiply one-digit numbers by three-digit numbers APRIL 24, 2023: Multiply three or more numbers: word problems Lattice multiplication MAY 1, 2023: Estimate differences by rounding: up to 1,000 Estimate sums using compatible numbers MAY 8, 2023: Division Facts 2 & 3 Division Facts 4 & 5 MAY 15, 2023: Division Facts 6 & 7 Division Facts 8 & 9 MAY 22, 2023: Division Facts 10 & 11 Division Facts 12 & Review
