In this class, students will practice solving equations that involve 3-digit addition with regrouping to try and get 5 in a row on their MATHO Card! 

While this is a one time class, students are welcome to participate in more than one section as equations will be rotated and they can choose a different board for another experience as well!

***PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a class that introduces how to solve 3 digit addition equations. It is designed for practice of the skill. Please only enroll your learner if they are able to solve 3 digit addition equations with regrouping fairly independently. It will be challenging for learners to keep up with the pace of the class if this is not a skill they currently have.

***PLEASE NOTE: This class does have print outs (the MATHO game board) that will need to be printed out or copied down on a piece of paper BEFORE class. We will not have time to prepare these boards once in class as we will get to solving our equations right away!

This class will utilize the chat feature in Zoom in order for learners to be able to privately send me their answers.

We will spend the first few moments of class creating a community by getting to know one another and understanding class expectations. 

Then we'll dive in and start solving the addition equations! As a class, we will work through the first couple equations together as a refresher for regrouping. Most equations will be solved independently, but I will be providing support to learners as needed! All equations solved will have a match on each MATHO board option and we will work toward learners getting 5 in a row!

We'll close our lesson out by checking in with our learning target to ensure students have understood, and students will also do a self reflection on their effort throughout the lesson!
