This class is perfect for homeschoolers or students seeking an academic boost after school, offering a cost-effective and time-efficient way to ensure success in both literature and essay writing. Students will not only analyze one of English literature’s greatest novels, but they will also master critical essay-writing techniques that align with Common Core standards for grades 9-10 (CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.9-10.1 through W.9-10.9). These skills are vital for success in high school exams, standardized tests, and college applications. 🔖𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙨𝙚𝙩𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚 𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩? Many students struggle with essay writing—a skill that is critical for academic success across all subjects. This course provides an added value by teaching students how to craft well-organized, thoughtful essays in every format, including persuasive, descriptive, and analytical essays. They’ll learn practical techniques to improve their writing, from organizing ideas to writing under pressure. As a parent, you can trust that your teen is in capable hands. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Language Arts and a Postgraduate Diploma in Humanities, with over five years of experience studying and teaching English Language Arts and Literature. I am also qualified to teach literacy from primary to secondary school levels, and I hold a TEFL certification to teach English to foreign language learners. My background ensures that your teen will receive high-quality instruction designed to meet their academic needs. 🔖𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣? Each week, students will read approximately 23 pages of Wuthering Heights and participate in discussions focused on key themes, literary devices, character development, and analysis of critical quotes. Additionally, we’ll dedicate the latter part of each lesson to refining essay writing skills—skills that will serve them throughout high school and beyond. Homework will be assigned biweekly to reinforce writing techniques.

Orientación para padres
Yes, there are some parental advisory notes for *Wuthering Heights* that parents may want to consider:
1. **Violence and Abuse**: The novel contains instances of emotional and physical abuse, including manipulative and toxic relationships, especially between Heathcliff and other characters.
There's not a quantity of gore, but the violence is cruel and disturbing. The continual struggle between young Heathcliff and his adoptive brother, Hindley, results in fist fights and rock throwing, and their relationship does not improve with age. Also in the novel: dog bites, a dog being hung (though it is rescued), and a grown male character striking and physically intimidating a teen girl.
2. **Dark Themes**: Themes of revenge, cruelty, obsession, and social class struggles are central to the plot, and may be disturbing for younger readers.
3. **Death and Grief**: The story deals heavily with death, grief, and suffering, which may be emotionally challenging for some teens.
4. **Complex Language**: The novel’s advanced vocabulary, archaic language, and complex sentence structures may be difficult for younger or less experienced readers to fully comprehend.
Parents should consider whether these themes and language challenges are appropriate for their child's maturity level.
