In this one on one, one day a week explicit tutoring session, the student will work with an experienced teacher in all academic areas, or their area of need. Lessons will incorporate reading phonics, phonemic awareness, comprehension, fluency, fiction/non-fiction, writing, science, social studies, drawing, math. Your child can move to the next academic level and make strong academic progress all whild discovering that learning is fun and engaging. Hi! Welcome to my Outschool classroom.
My name is Betty Nilssen. 💕
I have a BS in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish from UW-Milwaukee. I am a first grade teacher, but I have also taught second, third and fourth grade, full inclusive classrooms. My teaching license certifies me to teach grades 1~6. My passion for teaching reading while incorporating phonics, phonemic awareness, rhyming, comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, science, social studies, math, drawing and writing helps children strengthen their academic skills while they gain academic confidence and a love of learning. Teaching reading is my super power. I can support your young learner.
I have three adult daughters and two of them are teachers. My mom was also an educator.
There are so many books to read, words and sentences to write, math equations to solve and fiction and non fiction pictures to draw and label. Let's get started!
