⚡ In this 1:1 private class the student will either choose a specific Harry Potter book to focus on, or a Key Theme session they would like discuss. 

🌟 The class is a brilliant way for students to gain new insight on the story, whilst encouraging them to foster their own ideas on the characters & plot development throughout the books. They will practice both verbalisation and listening skills as they articulate their opinions, and listen to new ideas on the story. 

 ⭐ In the specific book classes we will focus on in-depth discussions on character development, favourite chapters and quotes from that particular book. The Key Theme classes explore ideas, theories & meanings across multiple books from the series - you can either choose to discuss themes across all 7 books, or focus on themes in books 1-4.

🪄  Themed sessions include: Friendship, Fear, Power, Love, Growing Up, Loss, Humour, "Good and Evil". In each class I will share a presentation which focusses on discussing one of these key motifs, in a fun & engaging way. Examples of Themed discussion questions include:

Growing up - In what ways do we see the main characters starting to grow up in the 4th book? What things are they experiencing that they haven’t in the previous books? What is Harry’s unexpected task in Chapter 22?

"Good" and "Evil" : We may view some characters as being “good” and others as being “bad” when perhaps they have both positive and negative qualities. Let’s examine some of the actions of a couple of main characters throughout the series.

Humour - What do you think are some of the funniest moments from the series? Can you think of times when Harry and Ron were particularly funny together?

✨ In every class we will discuss some of the learners favourite chapters (how does it change/add to the story), characters and quotes from throughout the books. Students have the opportunity to add their own observations and/or questions such as answering the following:
- What do you think were some of the best sentences/paragraphs from all the books?
- What are some amazing plot aspects/coincidences you noticed in, or between the Harry Potter series?
- Do you have any questions or Harry Potter topics you’d like to talk about in particular?

 🪄 I will share some fun Harry Potter book facts - for instance did you know that J K Rowling and Harry Potter share the same birthday (July 31st) - if the student wants to share any fun facts too they are most welcome to.

Supporting children to study the Harry Potter books is a brilliant way to encourage children to enjoy reading even more!  The characters, settings, and plot twists are so compelling and immersive that over the years the series has fostered a passion for books in millions of children all around the world. ⭐ Through thought-provoking discussion questions the class aims to be an enjoyable way for the learner to develop new understandings and connections from the book, whilst engaging in a fun conversation with me, a fellow Harry Potter fan! 

Feel free to dress up as a witch/wizard or bring any Harry Potter toys/accessories along to this class if you'd like!

I grew up reading Harry Potter - and have re-read all the books many times now! I look forward to teaching students who are as enthusiastic about Harry as I am. Learning is ongoing love of mine, which has transferred on to my love of teaching. My classes are designed to encourage curiosity in students as a way of exploring new ideas and understandings. I am a passionate educator who likes to incorporate fun projects & quizzes into classes, to better engage students and immerse them in enjoying learning!  💫
