**Please be sure to see the prerequisites for this class before signing up.** In this 2-3x/week, 1 on 1 class, your learner will learn all the skills needed to be a successful reader. I have included the 10 Levels below, however, depending on the age of the learner, it may take a while to get to the end. This class is specifically designed for students with dyslexia. We will be using the Barton Curriculum, an Orton Gillingham program, which will provide intense targeted instruction for dyslexic readers.
Students will need to pass a pretest to see if they qualify for the program. This will test for memory and the ability to manipulate sounds. Students need to already know their letters and sounds.
A computer that will allow us to utilize the remote control feature through Zoom is required. All students will be required to manipulate the Barton sound/letter tiles during class. All students must have a headset for class. They will need to be able to listen closely to sounds given to them without background noise or distractions.
Please double-check which class time you would like with me before enrolling. My schedule will be flexible for the summer.
