I help students study for tests, work on homework, complete projects and reports, practice for standardized tests, study for the SAT and ACT, and develop a strong math foundation.

It is important to make connections and show how the information is relevant and useful.

I often create games and logic problems to encourage deeper thinking.

Students in elementary school will work on arithmetic, fractions, decimals, measurement, graphs and data, and an introduction to Algebra and Geometry.

Students in middle school will work on Pre-Algebra, beginning Geometry, integers, decimals, fractions, analyzing data, the coordinate plane, proportions, probability, measurement, interest.

The topics depend on the student's prior knowledge and current assignments.

Hello! I’m a mom, math teacher, tutor, and blogger that believes that learning is fun when it’s relevant, interesting, and interactive.

I’m a certified teacher with a Master’s Degree in Education and have taught (in both public and private schools) and tutored for many years.

I have also been blogging for 14+ years and have experience with content creation, social media, running a business, public speaking, marketing, and more. I've been featured on local news channels and have spoken at conferences.

I help my students develop a growth mindset by providing an atmosphere where they feel confident and successful. I give my students the tools they need to face obstacles, persevere, and overcome challenges. In class, we use mistakes as learning opportunities, discuss big ideas, make connections, and learn to be problem solvers.

I have experience teaching both in-person and virtually. During the spring semester, I used technology to help make math fun, relevant, and interactive.

I love learning new things and challenging my mind and body. I also enjoy the outdoors and traveling. I studied abroad in Spain, studied/volunteered in Costa Rica, and volunteered at an English camp in Israel.

Interesting facts about me:

I have had a variety of interesting jobs. I have been in a few movies, music videos, and commercials as an extra. If you look really hard and pause in just the right spot, you can see me. :)

Each year, I train and run a half marathon here in Austin, Texas.

I'm a cancer survivor.
