US Grade 7 - 10
This class follows Writing Workshop: An Ongoing Practice of Writing Skills Pt. 1 FLEX SCHEDULE. This is part 2 of the course. However, taking Part 1 is not required. In this course, students will practice a variety of writing styles while using proper grammar and dynamic grammar techniques. This class will have NO LIVE MEETINGS. Students will check in each week for a video which will contain a PowerPoint lesson and writing assignment. The lesson video will be posted by Monday of each new week and the assignment is due on Friday. Students will post the assignment in the classroom and private video feedback will be provided by the teacher. Grades available upon request. Students will discuss the assignments in the classroom and are encouraged to provide constructive feedback to each other in the classroom. This is not a class for struggling writers, but for students who need extra practice working on writing. Part 2 of this class will cover the following topics:: 1. Five+ Paragraph Essay- Week 1 2. Persuasive Essay- Week 2 3. Compare/Contrast Essay- Week 3 4. How-To Essay- Week 4 5. Summary- Week 5 6. Research/Biography Essay- Week 6 Grades will be provided on each assignment and for the course upon request. At the end of the course, students will submit one piece of revised writing for a final evaluation. Once the course is completed, students will have a portfolio of writing.

Weekly PowerPoint lessons will be posted in the classroom as well as occasional handouts/worksheets.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
There are a lot of courses that focus on one specific writing topic; however, some students need ongoing practice of a variety of styles. As an experienced high school and college instructor, I have found ways to make writing interesting and relevant to the students.
