Wonderful Wizard Wands! Craft a Marvelous Wizard Wand to Grant Wishes!
Class experience
This 1 hour class is perfect for a budding Wizard! We will create a wonderful magical wand with just a few supplies. These wands are a fun addition to any wizard in training. The class will be a live step by step instructional time, where you will be creating your wand along with other students. I will guide you through the easy steps, helping you with tips and tricks to get the perfect wand. We will be using a glue gun, so please make sure you are comfortable using one. There are so many...
Through this class, students will learn to be responsible about using tools such as a glue gun, learn faux finishing techniques and have the ability to recreate what they've learned easily. It is a fun age appropriate art project for elementary and middle school kids.
-Wooden dowels as thick as a pencil or thicker, 12" or longer. -Acrylic craft paint- browns, blacks, or any color you prefer. (We will use at least 2 colors so have a dark color and a lighter shade.) If you want a metallic look, have a gold, silver or a metal color as well. -A brush with water for paint and a towel / paper towel. -A glue gun with at least 3 glue sticks. (All temperature works better for drips but you can still get effects with a low temp glue gun.) -Marbles, glass stones or large plastic jewels to place at the end of the wand. -A jar, vase or can you can rest the wands in while drying. -Newspaper, cardboard or aluminum foil. (Something you can have under you to catch any drips of glue or paint.) Optional- Sand paper or a sanding block to sand the end of the dowel. The more dowels and glue sticks you have, the more wands you can make! I recommend making at least 2 or more wands at a time. That way, while one is drying, you can work on the next one.
Kids will use a glue gun.
