In this 3-day class, students will create Winter themed art using a variety of techniques and materials.
Class experience
Each class will start with either introductions, questions to get to know each other better, or a review of what was covered in previous weeks. Students will then create artwork inspired by snowflakes, winter landscapes, and snowmen. Not only will we make art about winter, but we will also introduced to the elements of art, paper collage, and other important art concepts. Each lesson will be taught in a directed drawing style to aid those who are not confident in their skills yet. However,...
Students will practice cutting, pasting, painting, and drawing to help develop fine motor skills. Students will continue to develop skills in artistic expression and artistic decision making.
The two things I love most in life is art and teaching! I have a degree in art education and have lots of experience working with young students. I think that basic understanding of art techniques and theories are important things that students should learn to not only further their art skills but also to see the beauty in the world around them!
Week 1: Colored paper (blue, white, black, orange, and brown), scissors, glue It is suggested that black circles are precut by parents for the eyes and mouth of snowman. Week 2: White paper, crayons, watercolor paint, paint brush, cup of water, paper towel Week 3: Colored paper (blue, green, black and white), scissors, glue, black marker White paint and q-tip if time allows for painting.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students must be comfortable with scissors. If not, they will need parental assistance.
