Class Experience
Come experience Decimal Street! Students in this class will be introduced to the concept of place value through story format. The story will focus mostly on what the decimal is, ones place, tens place, and be introduced to the hundreds place. Each child will be given the chance to interact, make predictions, and answer comprehension questions about the story. They will also identify numbers using the ones and tens place. Students will be able to identify a decimal, ones place, and tens place. Students will comprehend place value up to the tens place. Students will be introduced to the hundreds place.
Students can use the place value chart made in class to build, say, and write numbers.

This story was inspired by Demme Learning and the Math U See Curriculum. They created the Decimal Street concept illustration. However the clipart, written story, presentation and activities were created by me.
