IMPORTANT TO KNOW: - Speed: Moderate - This is the 10th class of a series. - This class is appropriate for: Students who have had at least of 6 months of Vietnamese. Students should be able to have a simple conversation in Vietnamese and read and write basic Vietnamese. PRE-REQUISITES: Students should know - Introductions, greetings & basic phrases - Numbers - Alphabet, vowels, accents, basic grammar - Colors & shapes - How to say βI likeβ or βI donβt likeβ - How to ask and answer basic yes/no questions - Food basics - Common breakfast, lunch and dinner foods, desserts, snacks and beverages - Holiday foods & customs - Basic utensils and dish ware - Restaurant vocabulary & how to order - Physical features of a home, rooms of the house - Common adverbs - Common family members - Bedroom vocabulary - Clothing - Bathroom vocabulary - Kitchen & chore vocabulary - Places around town - School supplies & subjects - Comparatives and superlatives (ex: bigger than, biggest) - Family members - Professions FORMAT: - Students will learn new material then practice all four areas of language learning: oral comprehension, oral production, written comprehension, written production - We will use rhythm, movement, and various other mnemonic devices to retain the information (ex: Simon Says, clapping etc.). - This is NOT a full immersion course. CONTENT: Week 1: Pre-requisite Kahoot - Kahoot will cover all the things students will be required to know for this class Week 2: Body parts (essential body parts) Week 3: Body parts (describing self and others) Week 4: Advanced pronouns, introducing self and others with descriptions Week 5: Advanced pronouns, introducing self and others with descriptions & dialogue Week 6: 4 point review & games HOMEWORK: - On the occasions homework is assigned, it should no more than 20 minutes between classes. - Additional resource materials will be provided. CLASS BEHAVIOR & ADMINISTRATIVE INFO: Please make note of the following: 1) VIDEO REQUIRED. Video is required at the beginning of every class for check in. This is a requirement by Outschool. Upon verification, students may turn off their cameras. 2) RESPECT Please have your learner(s) familiarize themselves with the Outschool features such as mute and raising their hand. Students are expected to be respectful to all during class. 3) NO SHARING Please enroll all siblings for their own spot in the class, as appropriate. Also, per Outschool policy, adults are also not allowed on-camera. Students should be able to navigate the class independently. 4) MINIMUM ENROLLMENT Classes with less than 2 students will be either canceled and refunded or rescheduled. 5) MAKE UP SESSIONS Make up sessions are not available. I encourage students to review the video for whichever class they missed. 6) ABSENCES & REFUNDS Please refer to the Outschool policy regarding refunds. I cannot offer refunds after the class has taken place.

Parental Guidance
Students will need access to Kahoot.com though an account is not required. It is a quiz app that we will use in class to review materials in game format. We may occasionally also use Quizlet.
Supply List
Students should always attend class with: - Their Vietnamese notebook or binder - Paper - A writing utensil (pencil or pen) - If possible, it would be preferable to have a printed copy of the previous weekβs presentation available
