In this on-going weekly class learners will be presented with a different creative writing prompt inspired by history. Learners will have a mini-lesson about a historical event, era or person, followed by a creative writing prompt.

Class experience

US Grade 7 - 10
Learners will expand their general knowledge of world history as well as having historical writing prompts.
I am a certified teacher in the UK, and I have taught history and English across the elementary years. I was also employed by the Museum of London for a year, supporting their creative work with local schools.

Learners can upload their writing for more detailed feedback

Learners will be independently writing, so they should be keen and wanting to explore a creative writing class.

Many topics in history involve the discussion of death and injustice. These topics include talks of racism, sexism, and death. They will presented in an age-appropriate way, but discussions may be prompted. I believe that learners have such potential and interest when exploring topics found in history, and that they benefit from having a safe space to reflect on these themes.
