Description
Class Experience
During this class, students will learn how to create code to drive the visual robot around, how to use sensors to navigate the robot, and how to sequence commands correctly in order to solve the robotics computing challenge--Ocean Cleanup. No prior coding experience is required, just an interest in technology! In this class, students learn and practice the following basic coding and robotics concepts: - Sequence planning - Loops - Ultrasonic sensors - Condition statements - Algorithm...
By the end of this lesson, the students will describe the correct sequence of Python commands needed to complete the movement task. They will also have a basic comprehension of what robots are and can identify the key components of a robot drive system.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering and acquired Microsoft Innovative Educator Certification and CS with VEXcode VR Certifications. I am proficient in many programming languages and EdTech such as Python, Java, VEXCode VR, Scratch 3.0, Micro: bit, Visual Robotics, and Raspberry Pi.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
VEXCode VR (Virtual Robot) is a web-based platform that helps students learn computer science and robotics. it runs in a browser. No download is required. VEXCode VR is free, and no sign in account is required. It works on Windows, Mac, Chromebook, iPad and Android. No prior knowledge of programming is required.
