Students will practice using the apostrophe to indicate possession.
I am a homeschool mom of dyslexic kids. I have taken numerous classes to facilitate my own ability to foster literacy in students who may struggle in this area, including the Slingerland Introductory Comprehensive class followed by the year-long practicum, the Continuum Comprehensive class, followed by another year-long practicum, the Grammar for Grownups Lex class offered by Gina Cooke, and other classes by Structured Word Inquiry practitioners including Peter Bowers (Wordworks Kingston), Mary Beth Steven, Rebecca Loveless, and Fiona Hamilton. I often use resources found on the Real Spelling (TM) Toolbox (https://www.tbox2.com/), as I have found this to be an invaluable resource.
Homework Offered
Homework will be assigned after class. It should not take more than 15-20 minutes to complete. While not required, it is highly encouraged to help solidify understanding and ease of use in students' own writing.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

This class is for students who would benefit from scaffolding and practice, which may include students with learning challenges such as dyslexia.
Students must come to class equipped to write as we practice together. They can write using pencil and paper or a device of their choosing, whatever is most comfortable for them. There may be handouts that must be printed out prior to class.
The material for this course is taken from the Real Spelling(TM) Toolbox (https://www.tbox2.com/), a resource I highly recommend.
