Description

Class Experience

Learner and Family directed goals.
I have a BA in Creative Writing from WWU. I have absolutely loved Poetry ever since I was introduced to it in 10th grade. I write poems all the time and in many different forms. While I have no plans to publish my poems at the moment I am not against doing so in the future.
I created this class to share my enthusiasm for poetry with learners. I love all forms of poetry, including some of the more complex poems. In a class in college after learning all the basic classical forms we were asked to create our own poetry form for the class. I am not ashamed to say I created a very complex and convoluted poetry form that confused my classmates but that I was extremely proud of because of all the beautiful things I could do with it.
Homework will depend on learner and family goals for class.
Notebook or binder with lined paper. Pencils, pens, etc OR Microsoft word or Google docs
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Assessment is optional and will be based on Learner and Family goals for class.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Sources will depend on Learner and family goals.
