Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi to all and welcome!
My name is Antavius Ellison, and I am professional working artist and full-time K-8th grade dance. I am a Georgia State University graduate and hold a Certificate of Study in Dance at The Academy at Edge based in Los Angeles, CA. I'm currently obtaining a Certified Personal Trainer certification as well as a Youth Exercise Specialist certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
My professional experience includes stage and live performance, television and film, commericals, music videos, and regional theatre productions. My experience expands to assistant choreographer for independent and mainstream music artists.
I approach my classes with an developmental perspective involving mind, body and authentic connection. It's important that students are involved in a space that promotes self-confidence and authenticity while strengthening mental and physical abilities. My teaching focuses on self-discovery and self-empowerment within an all-inclusive safe space for students to openly express themselves through movement, storytelling, and an array of other creative mediums.
