Class Experience

Students will learn basic improv skills by practicing a variety of improv games.

The class is structured in an improvisational style. I will begin class by explaining each game to students, followed by time for students to participate.

Students will learn improv skills through participation in a variety of improv games and activities. These games include the following:

"Zip, Zap, Zop"
"Who's the Leader?"
"Changer"
"Who am I?"
"Emotion Party"
"The Counting Game"
"The Interrogation Game"

(Based on how each game progresses, it is possible that not all of the games will be played in class, but we will use the full time allotted for the class.)

Topics include creative questioning, improvisation, humor, and observation.

I will introduce the directions for each game as it is presented. We will complete as many of the activities as time allows. Due to the nature of improv, the length of each activity will vary. My teaching style is informal and is designed to encourage students to have fun during the learning process.

Students will interact with me and the other participants throughout this live class.

There is no prior knowledge or experience needed for this class. Students should be able to use the gallery view on their computer or device. Most of the activities rely on students being able to see the other class participants. The teaching style is informal. Students will be able to interact with each other and myself.

Students need no prior knowledge of improv to join the class.

Please note that this class will be cancelled if there are fewer than 4 learners enrolled.

Learning Goals

Students will learn basic improvisational skills. These include developing a crime scene, sharing clues, and solving a mock crime based on the provided clues. Students will also learn to collaborate on the development of a mock crime and related clues.
