Group experience
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Do you want to share your artwork and connect with other artists your age? Procreate, graphite, fiber art, sculpture, paint... it's all welcome here! This is a safe and fun space for learners to chat about their artwork and receive inspiration in a supportive community. No matter what your preferred art medium is, you'll have the chance to flex your skills. Artists will have the opportunity to share their work, receive feedback, and complete weekly creative challenges to get their creative ideas flowing. As a certified art teacher and artist myself, I will provide students with a creative art prompt each week on Tuesdays. These art challenges will switch up each week. It may be a challenge to draw a new original character or to try out a new color palette. This will be perfect for students with tons of creative ideas and for those who sometimes need help thinking of what to draw. Every Wednesday, a new discussion post will go up to promote engagement and socialization. These discussion posts will feature a variety of topics. Some examples are "What's your favorite art medium?" or "Do you have any pets? What are their names?". Learners will get to engage in these posts to share about themselves and their art journey. This will help other students get to know each other and find out more about everyone's art and other hobbies/skills. There will also be multiple opportunities throughout the week for students to share their own work. Every Friday, an Art Gallery post will go up where students are able to share their own art. Learners are expected to engage with other posts to help encourage other artists. I will be engaging throughout all of these posts to respond to learners, encourage their engagement, give feedback, and answer questions. I will respond throughout the whole week and specifically on days when posts go up (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Fridays). I will also engage by sharing my own artwork and replies to discussion prompts to help engage all learners. Learners will: -Receive weekly art challenges in the form of creative prompts. These will be posted every Tuesday. (Example prompt: Design an original character inspired by food) Learners will create something inspired by the art and then share their results in the comments of the post. I will respond to posts with encouragement and feedback. Learners are encouraged to interact with other posts as well. -Share their own artwork with the group. Every Friday, an Art Gallery post will go up in which any artwork can be posted for the group to see. There is also a Work in Progress art gallery where unfinished art can be posted for everyone to see. -Share their experience while creating the piece. What did they struggle with? What did they enjoy? -Share things they're excited about related to their art. This might be new art materials, new techniques, progress photos, or more! -Participate in weekly discussions that go up on Wednesdays (Example discussion prompt: What art styles do you prefer and why?) (What's your favorite animal and do you have any pets?) -Offer feedback, kind words, and constructive feedback to other artists -Ask for advice, tips, and/or recommendations on their artwork. Students can post if they're wondering what the best tool to use is, whether their artwork might need more shading, what color they should use, etc. - Leaners will be engaging in the group multiple times a week. There will be three new posts added throughout the week and students should expect to be responding and interacting with new posts and other learners weekly. As the educator and group moderator, I will: -Post new art challenges every Tuesday and answer any questions from learners about the challenge. These will be prompts to inspire. An example challenge is "Create a drawing inspired by your favorite video game". I will respond to all posts. -Post new discussion prompts every Wednesday and respond to comments from learners. These discussion posts are intended to spark conversation. An example is "what's your favorite art medium and why?" -Offer feedback and advice every Friday during our "Gallery Talk". Learners are encouraged to post their artwork from the week. Learners can discuss what everyone has shared and offer positive feedback, constructive criticism, and tips. I will participate in these discussions and offer my own feedback as well. -Respond to any questions from learners throughout the week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. -Moderate content to ensure everyone is being kind and safe. I will review every post made by students to make sure everyone is being kind, respectful, safe, and private with any information shared. If I see any inappropriate posts, I will remove and handle the situation accordingly. The only way to become a better artist is to keep creating! Join this weekly art club to connect with other artists your age. Creativity, encouragement, and positivity is what this group is all about.

Guidelines
Welcome to our Artists Connect Club! You’ll get to share your art and chat with other learners. My number one priority is for everyone to feel comfortable, connected, and safe. That's why we have 3 rules we ask you to follow: Be Kind, Be Safe, and Be Respectful.
Be Kind - Help all learners feel welcome and included.
Learners from all over the world, with different backgrounds, races, ethnicities, abilities, gender identities, religions and body types, participate in our Group. Always be nice and make others, especially new learners, know that they belong and are welcome. Teasing, name calling, or bullying anybody in our community? Nope. Not happening here
Be Safe - Keep your personal information private and never ask other learners for theirs.
Personal things are personal. We want to keep you safe on Outschool, but we also want YOU to understand how to be safe when you're meeting other learners or teachers. Keep your full name, home address, gaming or social media name, email, and school name private.
Be Respectful - Treat others how you want to be treated.
Keep language clean and information you share safe. If you wouldn't say it or share with your grandma, don't do it here. Swear words, racy videos, and violent images are not allowed. Treat Outschool like a public place, and when in doubt, keep things covered.
