Straight From the Farm: Meet a Cow and Make Your Own Butter (ages 4-7) During this class, students will learn where milk comes from and how to make their own butter at home. We will spend the first 5 minutes of class asking students where they think milk and butter come from. Next, we will discuss different products that are made with milk. Kids will have the opportunity to share what their favorite milk product is with the class. Once we review where milk comes from, we will begin making homemade butter. For the last 10 minutes of the class, students will have the opportunity to see videos of live animal and answer questions about what they learned today. Make sure your child has something to spread their delicious butter on as we end class. Materials needed for this course: Mason Jar with lid Clock Whipping cream Salt

Teacher expertise and credentials
I'm passionate about teaching classes about caring for our farm animals and where our food comes from. I am interested in teaching preschool and early elementary. I have had experience with animals since I was a child. I am a member of 4-H and FFA as a child showing pigs, cattle and livestock judging. Now that I am a mom of two boys, I am a member of the 4-H committee. My family and I have lived on our farm for 10+ years caring for our livestock and harvesting food for our livestock.
