This course will be primarily discussion-based, coupled with PowerPoint-style presentation. Students are encouraged to talk about their own situations and ask questions about what might work best for them. This class does not feature live goats. For a more in-depth class on goats, please see the four-week course: Beyond Kidding: Dairy Goats -- Breeding, Birthing, and Milking suggested below. This is an abridged version of that class and briefly touches on the same information. **I am not a veterinarian and information contained in this course is designed for general informational purposes only. Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Heidi, I have a brother named Peter, we are third generation Swiss-American, and I raise dairy goats in the foothills of a mountain range on Grandfather's farm. You can't even make this stuff up. :)
I am not a veterinarian, but worked for years as a veterinary assistant. Additionally, I have attended several goat births (and narrowly missed a few) on our own farm. My family has a small goat herd with new kids born every year. We have a small business making and selling soap with our extra goat milk.
