Assessment
Every verbal response is an informal assessment. Skills assessment will be performed at the beginnning and end of the course.

Class Experience

Instruction will be teacher-led, with students will being encouraged to respectfully interact with both the teacher and other students in every session. Speech will be modeled, then students asked to practice the skill immediately as an informal assessment. Since speech is inherently interactive, controlled conversation will be encouraged between teacher and student, as well as student to student.

Teaching will include teacher instruction, on-screen slides and video clips. We will focus on letter sounds, word pronunciations, vocabulary, verb tense, sentence structure and appropriate diction overall.

Because the hardest part of learning English is learning to hear, discriminate and produce the sounds in the language, Speech and Language with Midge uses tracks during each lesson. WELCOME LEARNERS AND PARENTS!
If you or your student is struggling with below level skills, I can help! I am an accelerated reading. writing and mathematics specialist holding multiple teaching certificates in two states, who was a homeschooling mom for 10 years. I have taught in public and private schools for 18 years and continue to serve all ages, grades, and skill levels, from students with varying degrees of autism to the naturally advanced, from Pre-K through College level.

In a Nutshell:
Accelerated Learning Specialist and World Class Tutor, 15+ years synchronous and asynchronous teaching in national and international classroom environments. Implements superior coursework in English Language Arts (ELA), English Language Learners (ELL), literacy, mathematics, music, African-American History, and life skills. Master academic diagnostician with 30+ years diagnosing learning inadequacies Consistently delivers more than one grade level growth per academic year (meaning students can achieve YEARS of skills in only MONTHS), learners advance rapidly beyond the norm, far exceeding expectations of many popular methodologies. For example:

Students can:
*Go from non-reader to reading at mid-second grade level in only 65 lessons
*Grow from mid- 2nd grade level to 4th grade level in only 65 lessons
*Grow from 4th to 5th grade level in only 65 lessons
*Grow from 5th to 7th grade reading level in only 125 lessons

My job is to clear clutter and confusion, fill learning gaps and teach each skill to mastery. And to do it all while having fun! My results consistently produce more than one year's skill growth in less than one academic year, thereby increasing self-confidence and joy in student learners and appreciation in parents.

Using a unique combination of technology and scientifically proven results-based methodologies developed over many years of teaching experience, all student learners consistently receive a world-class opportunity for growth year after year.

VALUES/PHILOSOPHY
My personal values are integrity, honor, respect of family, learner, and parent. My philosophy is to do the work done, with minimal mistakes and succeed. Values modeled to all student learners are 1) respect for every person, 2) to treat others as you want to be treated, and 3) to be readily accessible to parents.
